He's not going anywhere in January, for the money we'd get for him, unless we were ultra confident of replacing him with someone as good, it won't be worth it.
I expect him to go in January, and with the money we now get to spend, he won't be the hardest player to replace. I'd rather he stayed, but it doesn't seem likely.

He is definately off. He has basically said to the club this is what I want. If you offer it I will stay if you don't I will go. Personally I think the club should pay it.
But West Ham are bigger than Reid. We will get very good money for him and go out and buy someone just as good for half the money.
The way things are at the moment, with every single player doing their bit, people will turn to Reid and say "See you then". He will be missed but it isn't the end of the world.

The question is, is he replaceable and when I say replaceable, I mean can we just let him go for fuck all and then have to shell out significant money to replace that gap?

let us be perfectly clear...his performances so far this season have been cause for concern. Seems woefully off the pace and quite frankly disinterested. The defensive shield from Song , Noble and Kouyate has at least prevented his poor performance from sticking out like a sore thumb.

I find it depressing that as soon as whu starts going places all the talk turns to which of our best players will move on. Only yesterday i read an article about how arsenal should buy song.
for the first time in a long time, we've got real promise and its an exciting time, we should do everything possible to keep this group of players together and see where they takes us.

Brian McDermott was there to watch him on Saturday - that's why the story has gathered momentum he sat with other scouts behind the press box.

1. He will not be contracted to West Ham.... he is running his contract down and will be a free agent
2. We won't get any money for him if he stays until May and very little if he left in Jan.
Obviously I would like him to stay but we will get as good if not better if he goes so I'm not going to lose sleep over it.
If he does leave he will live to regret going!!

Unfortunately, a club of our size will inevitably sell it's best players to bigger sides. I just hope we get good money for him and he doesn't walk. Don't know why people are surprised at it really. Rio Ferdinand transfer is a prime example of what I'm talking about
Although we benefited from it a little early on, Bosman is bollocks.
Also, it's probably been pointed out but "fullback"?
